Carnevale (2020)

Italidea-Midwest offre fondi per le scuole medie di Chicago città, provincia di Chicago e St. Louis grazie ai contributi del Ministero dell’Istruzione e la raccolta fondi per mantenere e eventualmente creare nuovi programmi di lingua italiana per la scuola media. Domenica 23 febbraio 2020, Italidea-Midwest ha ospitato la sua prima festa di Carnevale per studenti, genitori, insegnanti e la comunità italiana per presentare ogni scuola, i lavori dei loro studenti e per celebrare il Carnevale nello stile di Italidea-Midwest.

Professionalization Workshop Fall (2018)

The Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago, in collaboration with the Education Office of the Italian Consulate General at Chicago, Italidea-Midwest Ltd, and the Department of Hispanic and Italian Studies at UIC held a professional development workshop: Professor Roberto Dolci Foreign Language Teaching as a Soft Power Resource. Examples from the Past as Reflections on the Past and Future

University of Illinois at Chicago, Daley Library Conference Room 1- 470, 801 S. Morgan Street. The analysis of instructional material in use during the time period between the First and the Second World War stimulates reflections on the role, and use, of teaching foreign languages and cultures as a soft power resource. What are the possible implications for our present times and pedagogical practices? This workshop was aimed at generating discussion among participants about the ethics and ontology of FL teaching and learning. Roberto Dolci is Associate Professor of Linguistics at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and Visiting Scholar at the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute, CUNY, New York.
